Case Studies – Mikey Ryan Restaurant and Bar
A Referral from a previous satisfied Urban Choice client who installed a wooden structure with us took us to Mikey Ryan Restaurant and Bar in Cashel, Co.Tipperary.
The Brief from the client was for an outdoor structure which would provide a ‘Private Dining” area in the Secret Garden at Mikey Ryan’s bar.
This was required to entertain discerning guests 365 days of the year giving shelter, heat, ambience and perhaps most importantly to maintain and embrace the stunning existing stone walls surrounding the area and to enhance the beautiful walled garden setting.
We specified the largest single size Renson Camargue 6200mmm x 4500mm x 2600mm allowing the restaurant to have space for a large Dining Table seating 12 people.

As both a safety and a special branding feature we added the Mikey Ryan Logo as a stencil to the glass doors.
Remote controlled screens on the outside of the glass gave the option for privacy for the dining guests when required and also locks were supplied for security.
LED Lights enhance the mood in the now named “Glass Well” with roof lights, up lights in RGB colours and warm white dimmable lights the Pergola gives the diners a choice of mood for every occasion.
Added to this is the sound bar playing the customers favourite music from their smart device.
Finally, Heat bars were specified to give warmth to the diners all year around.
The stone walls in the area remain an outstanding feature and the cream frame work on the Renson Camargue blends seamlessly into its surroundings.
During Construction a “well” was found and this has been embraced into the pergola and provides a stunning additional feature and in fact is where the Dining area has got its name “The Glass Well”.
As a result of this installation Urban Choice Design were delighted to receive the much coveted Best Commercial Outdoor Project Award 2021.
